NEW – Tsawwassen Community Rides – Saturday, Sept. 9th

‘Tsawwassen Community Rides’

We are pleased to announce a new community event called ‘Tsawwassen Community Rides’ to be held on Saturday, September 9th from 11 am – 3pm, brought to you by Century Group’s ‘Southlands’ (who have formerly hosted the ‘Bike In’) and Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall as well as community partners, Bria Communities, HUB Cycling, The Boundary Bay Cycle Club, The Tsawwassen Business Improvement Association, and more.

From 11 am – 3 pm, guests are invited to enjoy community display booths in the South Mall Breezeway such as the Boundary Bay Lions Food Truck, Tsawwassen CoPS, Sublime Art Supplies, and many more.

At 11 am our thriving Senior’s Community may join us for a ‘Passport Walk’ throughout the mall, where they will collect stamps to be entered to win a great prize! All seniors are welcome, and can pick up a ‘Walking Tour Passport’ at Rotary Square, near Blenz Coffee.

At 12 noon we will be host to a children’s decorated bike parade through and around the mall, with ribbons awarded for best decorated bikes. This is geared for kids 2 – 7, but all are welcome. Strollers, wagons, scooters and tricycles will also be accepted as entries. This parade will end with a magic show presented by Bobby the Magician, as well as face painting.

At 1 pm, experienced and casual bike riders will join us for a guided 15 km ride through Tsawwassen. (Registration and participation waivers 11 am – 12:45pm.) Once the riders return to the mall, they will use our complimentary bike valet and enjoy the musical performances by the students and instructors from ‘Studio Cloud 30’ (home of Juno Nominee Warren D Flandez).

This inaugural event is aimed to promote health and fitness in a free, family friendly environment, sure to garner a large following from the active local biking community. Adding the children’s and seniors parade portions gives our entire community a chance to be involved and have some fun.

Welcome Tsawwassen Business Improvement Association

The Tsawwassen BIA was formed in January 1991 with the mandate to build and maintain a strong business community, and to promote the commercial district, so that our businesses thrive and prosper. The ‘uptown area’ of Tsawwassen along 56th Street and 12th Avenue is the heart of town; with over 250 businesses ranging from retail shops, award-winning restaurants & unique coffee shops, and a variety of professional services across our town – from Centennial Beach to Tsawwassen Springs; and from the Canada/US border up to Highway 17 in our southern-most community of Delta, BC.

Our members range from small retail owner-operated businesses to larger corporate entities and member breakdown is equal between the professional sector and retail/service sector. Now in its sixth 5-year term, the Tsawwassen BIA and its board of directors continue to focus on promotion & business development, and on creating economic opportunities for its members through many avenues including: marketing & advertising programs; commercial and municipal-owned area beautification and streetscaping; advocating & liaising with the Mayor, Delta Council, and tourist other business organizations; and by sponsoring many of the special events that bring people here and keep reminding us all of why we love this family-friendly community!

Welcome Nurse Next Door

Brian Buckley and daughter Lindsay Eldridge decided to partner to bring much needed homecare services to the Delta/Ladner/Tsawwassen area. Both Brian and Lindsay expressed a desire to build a business that would give back to their local community and realized quickly that providing high-quality homecare services would be the perfect fit.

With a strong background in business management, Brian intends to shape Nurse Next Door into the preferred provider and employer for homecare services in Delta and the surrounding region.

Lindsay, meanwhile, will bring her attention to customer service to ensure Nurse Next Door leaves clients and their families enthusiastic promoters of her new business by delivering excellent client-focused care.

Together, this father-daughter duo are intent on delivering excellent homecare that will allow local seniors to remain comfortably in their own home.

Nurse Next Door now offers a wide range of one-on-one Home Care Services in Delta.
